In the heart of Uganda, Mercy Children's Home is a place of hope for vulnerable and orphaned children who have nowhere else to turn. Many of the children we care for have lost their parents, escaped neglect, or come from situations no child should ever face. At Mercy Children's Home, they find safety, love, education, and a chance to dream again.
But today, we are facing a serious challenge.
The land where the children currently live is not secure. Without owning a permanent place, the future of this home — and the stability these children depend on — is at risk. We urgently need to raise funds to purchase land where we can build a safe, lasting home for them.

Many of our children come from situations of neglect and uncertainty. Here, they find more than just a roof — they find a place where they are safe, loved, and finally at peace.
Every child deserves a chance to learn and dream. We provide school fees, uniforms, books, and support — giving each child the opportunity to build a brighter future.
For many of our children, regular meals were never guaranteed. Today, we provide three nourishing meals a day — restoring their strength, health, and hope.
We ensure every child receives the medical care they need — from routine checkups to urgent treatment — so they can grow up strong and healthy.
Beyond physical needs, we nurture the heart. Through faith, love, and guidance, we help each child discover their value and purpose.
As they grow, we equip our children with practical skills and confidence — preparing them for independent, meaningful lives beyond the home.

Ssengonzi Alex is the founder of Mercy Children's Home in Kasanda Bukuya, UGANDA — a place where compassion has become a lifeline for vulnerable children.
His journey began with something simple but powerful: seeing children in his community going to bed hungry, without care, without protection, and without hope. Many were orphaned, abandoned, or living in extremely difficult conditions. While others passed by, Alex could not ignore their pain.
In 2020, with no funding and very limited resources, he made a life-changing decision — to open his heart and his home. What started with just a few children has now grown into a family of 32 children who depend on Mercy Children's Home for daily meals, shelter, care, and love.
Every day is a challenge. But despite the hardships, Alex continues to stand firm in his mission — to give these children not just survival, but a future. At Mercy Children's Home, these children are no longer forgotten. They laugh, they learn, and they begin to dream again.
